Phnom Penh: The Phnom Penh Municipal Authority says it confiscated 194 vehicles for violating the curfew after 9pm on Monday night. The curfew is nationwide and runs from 9pm-3am. It’s in place for 14 days, running through Thursday 12 August.
Authorities say of the 194 vehicles confiscated, 57 are cars and the rest are motorcycles. Ever since the curfew was first implemented on Friday last week, a total of 1,063 vehicles have been confiscated in Phnom Penh alone, 307 of them cars.
Other measures introduced last Friday include a nationwide ban on alcohol sales and a ban on dining-in at restaurants, food stalls and cafes, although EAC News has seen many restaurants across Phnom Penh still serving customers inside their premises.
